About the Trainer
Rocky Botello, head personal trainer, attended the University of Texas at Austin from 2002 through 2006. During his tenure at UT he majored in Health Promotions & Fitness through the Kinesiology program and minored in Business. Upon completion Rocky created Diaeta Fitness, Inc. and joined Pinnacle Elite Fitness and their talented team. In his own words, here’s how Rocky began his career in fitness:
“Exercising, working out and being ‘fit’ was never really my choice. It was predestined and ordained by my father... an ex- boxer, martial artist, and Vietnam Vet. I ran my first mile when I was 3 and my first 5-miles when I was 5. By the time I was 10 we'd routinely go out on 13, 15 & 20-mile runs. My introduction to swimming came at the ripe old age of 2 weeks - let me re-iterate - 2 WEEKS old. My father would dunk me in the six foot end of the pool and I would instinctively swim back up to the top. I started boxing competitively at the Boys & Girls Club when I was 3 and continued for 10 years. I began martial arts (Wing-Chun & Jeet-Kun-Do) at about 7, but boxing was always the priority. In high school I competed in swimming, track & field, and football. Sports and exercising were never my choice. It was just simply something that was understood. Currently, I’m preparing to compete in the 2008 OCB Texas Shredder Classic All-Natural Bodybuilding Competition.”
